It received mostly positive reviews, and the post-launch DLC added new features to the game, like the ability to enter tombs in co-op. The base game launched Septemand featured the largest tombs in the history of the Tomb Raider franchise. Completing the tombs nets crafty players exclusive new outfits (who doesn’t want a Sinchi Chiqua Battle Dress), weapons (nothing like a Grip of Fear axe), and skills (the Raptor’s Eye is great for tracking down those squirrely enemies). It is the darkest story in the revamped Tomb Raider series, as it sees Lara kick off the apocalypse herself, rather than showing her fixing Trinity’s mistakes. All seven Challenge Tombs are included with Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition: The Forge, The Pillar, The Nightmare, The Price of Survival, The Serpent’s Heart, The Grand Caiman, and The Path Home. So it is the complete version of the game, which closes out Lara Croft’s origin story in an incredibly dramatic fashion, since it includes the Mayan Apocalypse as a plot device. ![]() Like most post-launch collected editions, Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition includes the base game, all seven post-launche DLCs, which gives players access to every challenge tomb, downloadable weapon, outfit, and skill. While the first two games were developed exclusively by Crystal Dynamics, Deus Ex studio Eidos Montreal took charge on the latest chapter, arguably giving Lara Croft her definitive adventure. There will be a Stadia version of the Definitive Edition launching with the new streaming platform later next month.
